Stockpit allows you to enable two-factor authentication on your account. This gives your account an extra layer of security. Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, is an authentification method that requires two different authentication factors rather than one where people simply put in their username and password combo. It requires a second factor that is generated at the time of login to ensure that only the rightful owner of the account can have access to it, for instance by creating a one-time-use code that will be required to finalize the login process.
In short, 2FA ensures that even if your password is leaked, your accounts remain safe because you are still the only person capable of giving the second authentication factor.
With version 1.6 of Stockpit, you can now use two-factor authentication on your account. To do that, you simply need to go into your profile settings and activate the option.
This will provide you with a number of codes, you need to save them. They are recovery codes in case there are issues with the single-use codes generated when trying to login.
With 2FA now activated, when logging into your account, you will have an extra step, where you will be required to add a single-use code in order to confirm your identity. Once it's done, you are successfully connected to your Stockpit account.
The feature can also be disabled at any point in the settings.
